Town skipper Matt Holland has been called into the Ireland squad for the European Championships Group 10 qualifier against Russia in Moscow on September 7th.

The Blues will hope that Hermann Hreidarsson and Amir Karic also get calls (if they are still with the club after the August 31st deadline) in order to avoid having to play the match at Grimsby without their skipper, and possibly Hreidarsson as well.

Town need three call-ups for full or U21 internationals in order to have their Nationwide League game postponed. Another possibility is an England U21 call-up for either Darren Ambrose or Darren Bent.
