Drinan Set For Orient
Sunday, 27th Jun 2021 08:11

Town striker Aaron Drinan is set to join League Two Leyton Orient in the days to come.

The 23-year-old joined the Blues from Waterford in January 2018 and spent time on loan at Sutton United, back at the League of Ireland club, Ayr United and in Sweden with GAIS before finally making his Town debut last August.

The former Irish U21 international went on to make eight starts and 16 sub appearances for the Blues, scoring once.

Town surprisingly took up the one-year option in the Cork-born frontman’s contract at the end of the season but now, according to the EADT, will move to the O’s in the next few days.

The frontman not appearing on either the first-team or U23 list of players for pre-season training had led to fans asking questions regarding his future, although it is understood he has been back home in Ireland.

Drinan will become the 20th contracted professional have left Town since the end of the season plus the four remaining loanees.

Elsewhere, Wigan are reportedly set to sign Charlton keeper Ben Amos, whose Addicks contract us up later this week.

The Blues were also interested in the 31-year-old, who the South Londoners had been keen at the Valley.

Nottsboy my issue wasn't about the Holy part as I don't think he's that good either it's with the last part ‘ not looking good at the moment PC needs to get a grip with this one.' how on earth do you know he hasn't already got bids in for two keepers or to buy one and loan one? Sick of fans not even giving the new owners and cook a chance when most won't be announced until now due to holidays or July 1st. He knows what he needs hence being in for keepers I don't think he needs our advice

Monkeyblue we're all just bored with your excessive criticising of the owners and manager and talking about the team we had being good enough yet most have already gone to league two!! You've not given cook a chance to get his own team or the owners to turn it around. Evans screwed us royaly and no fan or fans can get rid of the manager or do they hire the managers that again is down to the owner of the club. The FACT is we had a poor average side for such a big club in this league, too big a squad with too many average players hence finishing way out the play offs each year evans also let the players contracts run out year on year like this year 20 players out of contract as you say that's the owners fault that was evans fault he was clueless and now our new owners and manager have THE BIGGEST JOB ever because of the turnover of staff and not either of their fault that the team wasn't good enough FACT. You say you're a supporter how about some support then Instead of your constant droning on you never ever post anything positive even on a positive post where we sign someone or when dobra/cook proved you and Betty wrong??

Nottsboy again as I keep saying on here everyone last week was banging on about how we can't get transfers over the line and boom we sign a few same as you're saying about cook he's not stupid he'll have other irons in the fire some on here just need to be patient as I said anyone who knows football knows most footballers have been away only just coming back and free transfers won't get sorted until July 1st people on here need to stop criticising the new owners and manager and let them crack on they're the ones who deal with it no one on here does

Rome was not built in a day or even a month. It is very early in the reign of the new regime so I think we need to be a little more patient.

With respect to Drinan I hope that he can establish himself somewhere, achieve success and then move back up the football pyramid. I will certainly be keeping an eye on his progress and wish him all the best.

So did we get a fee for him? If so, I wouldn't say it would be alot

Good luck Aaron if the move works out for you while not the best player you always tried your utmost and left the park with a sweat stained shirt unlike like the majority of the passengers we have carried for far too long.
