David Sheepshanks says it may be another two weeks before a replacement is found for George Burley due to the number of applicants involved. This will please Tony Mowbray as the longer this process continues, the longer he will have to demonstrate that he's the man for the job.

Sheepshanks said: "We are very fortunate to have Tony Mowbray in charge at the moment but we owe it to everybody, the fans the players the staff, to interview from the strongest field that we can attract. We have had a huge response from high calibre individuals for the role as you would hope. We are progressing but we are still looking at between one to two weeks before being able to confirm an appointment."

New names are slowly been added to the list of possibles, with Guus Hiddink now joining Philippe Troussier in the "would be nice but highly unlikely" pile.
