![]() Friday, 8th Nov 2002 09:32 Town's Academy have been drawn at home to Notts County in the third round of the FA Youth Cup. This weekend both senior sides are away while Chris Hogg could get an England call. The FA Youth Cup is an U18 tournament which means the side will be a mixture of U17s and U19s. For the last two seasons the Town side has been fairly similar with the likes of Darren Bent, Darren Ambrose, Matt Bloomfield and Ian Westlake all eligible. Two years ago they went out at the semi-final stage in a dramatic two-leg tie with Arsenal. Last season they exited at Fulham in the fifth round due to a controversial last minute penalty. This time around it is the turn of players like Sam Morrow, Chris Hogg, Dean Bowditch and Erkan Okay to compete while first team squad player Matt Richards is still young enough to play. Notts County's youth set-up is well established and respected. Arsenal's Jermaine Pennant is perhaps the most famous of their old boys. The date for the tie has yet to be set but it must be played before December 2nd and will on the main Portman Road pitch. This Saturday morning the U19s are away at Norwich City's Colney Training Ground while the U17s travel to Wimbledon's Richardson Evans Training Ground in Roehampton Vale. Central defender Chris Hogg is on standby for the England U18s match against Tunisia in Tunis next Thursday.
