Director of Sales Richardson Leaving Town
Wednesday, 5th Jul 2023 15:34

Town’s long-serving director of sales, Rosie Richardson, is leaving the club at the end of this week, the Blues have announced.

Richardson, pictured above with CEO Mark Ashton, joined Town in 2000 as a sales executive and was appointed to her current role in 2013.

Perhaps her most profile achievement while with the Blues was Ed Sheeran's sponsorship, while she also played a key role in the TikTok event the Framlingham-based pop star staged at Portman Road in 2021.

“We would like to place on record our gratitude to Rosie for the incredible support and commitment given throughout her time here,” Ashton told the official website.

“She departs as a genuine friend of the club and we look forward to welcoming her at Portman Road over the coming years, the same way she has welcomed and looked after corporate partners and guests throughout her tenure. We wish her all the best on her next journey.”

Richardson, who will be spending much of the summer travelling abroad, added: “It has been an honour to have worked and represented this great club for so many years.

“I have had the privilege of meeting and working with so many wonderful people, from colleagues, managers, chairmen, players, and former players, and I have established excellent relationships across the business sector and supporter community. The club will always have a special place in my heart.”

Will be missed by so many, the Club has lost some good people over the last year or so. Best of luck Rosie, enjoy your time off on your travels before your next adventure.

Great Ambassador for the Club and when all else was broken at the Club under Evans, Rosie could be relied upon to ensure the values of the Club were maintained. Both my son and I will always be grateful to her for that and the personal attention she provided. A miss for our Club, but enjoy your travels Rosie and with whatever the future holds.

Seems strange so many back room staff departing with the club on a crest of a wave. Best of luck to Rosie on her travels and her future employment.

For anyone that watched or listened to the interview with Alan Lee I'm pretty sure he called out Rosie as one of the really good people within the club during that terrible Evans era.

One could easily assume that things within the Club, are not as one would like to think … !!
Or are the many exits just a coincidence ? - there has certainly been more than a few in recent times, behind the scenes.
Time, as always will tell.

I am surprised by this I would be interested to know why she is leaving!
She is a high class sales woman who has done brilliant work for the club

My suspicion is that she really wants to go and see the world, enjoy life, relax and have a lovely time.
My further suspicion is that it is her choice and decision and that the Club are genuine in their expressions of respect.
She was and is clearly one of the good 'uns.

Blueboy1981 I've never known anyones glass to be half empty quite as much as yours. Most of last season was moaning even when most could see we was on the up and huge improvements were made at the club and even now you come up with some conspiracy theory when you don't even know if it was her choice or not. Regarding coachs etc that happens at every single club people move on it's part of football I'm afraid.

Good luck to her in whatever she does onwards and upwards

A minority of people seem to only cling to the people leaving and see it negatively yet same people hardly ever comment on the ex pros like Stewart and all the good the club does with Stewart's charity and the community. At least give praise where it's due as well ffs

Whilst not a terrible person, the people in the offices at Portman road will not be worried one bit that a breath of fresh air will be looking after the sales department which is a long time coming! Stories of such poor quality work, bad feeling amongst people, mild bullying and not what our Club deserves.

Any “client” should not be fooled and loyal supporters and season ticket holders should remember things like the additional cost of their free iFollow passes after covid, etc.

Whilst nobody should have I'll wishes moving forward and putting up with Marcus Evans must have been tricky at times, this change should have come years and years ago.

I had to create an account just to say this.

yes Blueboy time will tell, it did last year and you were proved wrong with everything you said! You looked and sounded totally clueless about football and all things Ipswich!

Should be known as Cluelessboy!!

Is there anything connected with Ipswich Town that Blueboy cannot put a negative viewpoint on? We are all entitled to our opinions but you would think that even the most miserable person would occasionally see a chink of light.
How many games will pass before his regular comment last season of “much to do” will appear on these pages?
