Leaders Leicester Lose at Plymouth
Friday, 12th Apr 2024 22:02

Town will definitely return to the top of the Championship if they beat Middlesbrough at Portman Road on Saturday after leaders Leicester City were beaten 1-0 by Plymouth Argyle at Home Park this evening.

Mustapha Bundu netted the only goal of the game in the 21st minute for the Pilgrims, who saw the three points out in relative comfort in the second half.

The result leaves the Blues second behind the Foxes on goal difference alone with all of the top three now having played 42 matches.

Leeds, a point behind Town and Leicester, are in action at home to Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road at 12.30pm tomorrow before the Blues face Boro at 3pm.

While a win would definitely put the Blues top, a draw might be enough depending on the Whites’ scoreline against Rovers.

Interesting permutations there Len Brennan. Can't help thinking I hope Leiester don't go up given their avoidance of the fair play penalties. Will ve cheering on Coventry against Man Utd (hopefully will go into extra time). Hoping if Hull are out of it by time we play them they will avoid playing their Liverpool loanee (Carvelho) to avoid the extra costs to them if he gets injured.

The Plymouth support was incessant in the second half. They carried their team over the line. We must do the same this afternoon. Positive atmosphere, no moaning, we all want the same thing, so get behind the team with volume turned to max we can do our bit - the 12th Man.

Leicester have 3 out of 4 remaining games at home, and are only under performing away atm.

Can envisage Leeds and Twon on the top two spots and Leicester dumped in the play-offs lottery.

Cheats never prosper? Probably more like the players are leaving regardless of promotion so commitment is well below 100%. Expect them to lose on the last day.
