Seven December and January Games Move Tuesday, 15th Oct 2024 16:32 Seven Town fixtures in December and January have moved due to TV coverage or other matches switching date.
The game against Crystal Palace at Portman Road remains on Tuesday 3rd December but has moved to a 7.30pm start due to being live on Amazon.
AFC Bournemouth’s first ever top flight visit to Town has switched to Sunday 8th December from the previous day and will kick-off at 2pm. The game isn’t being screened live but moves as a consequence of the Cherries’ midweek home match against Spurs being on the Thursday.
The Blues’ trip to Arsenal, previously scheduled for Boxing Day, will now be played on Friday 27th December with an 8.15pm kick-off with that game also live on Amazon.
As a result of that switch, Town’s home game against Chelsea, originally set for the Sunday, will now be played on Monday 30th December at 7.45pm. That match is not being screened live by any broadcaster.
The visit to Fulham, previously scheduled for Saturday 4th January, will now be played on Sunday 5th January with a 2pm kick-off and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
Brighton’s visit to Portman Road, initially set for Tuesday 14th January, has moved to the Thursday of that week with a 7.30pm kick-off and will be shown live by TNT Sports.
And the Manchester City match the following weekend will now be played on Sunday 19th January with a 4.30pm start and will be live on Sky Sports.

My mates laughed at me when walking out of the ground after the Huddersfield game i said im really going to miss the championship because of the entertainment value. They should call the Premier league the Sky league they virtually run it . I know we are getting millions of pounds from Sky but so is every body else. As far as Sky are concerned the fans don't exist. Im lucky living 10 miles from Portman road it's those making the long journeys i feel for. Ive always had a dislike for the Premier league circus the biased refereeing favouring the big clubs and ive seen nothing to change my opinion this season.

I think we all expected this to happen but it’s a total pain in the a**e. It’s impossible to plan far ahead and juggle fixtures with work etc… The moment you do try and plan the games get rearranged! Sky etc do not give a flying fig about the fans that attend matches.

Welcome to the world of streaming ! Is there any other sport controlled so much by tv to the detriment of supporters ? Something for the new independent football regulator to look at if it is ever established.

Bert - pretty much most major sports have their schedules determined by tv coverage. Rugby, cricket, nfl, nba, it’s a long old list. Come on, is everyone actually moaning at this? That the club’s profile continues to grow on a global scale? We all knew this would happen, surely we all wanted to get to the Prem? Could be our only season at this level, why can’t we enjoy it for what it is?

Why all the moaning about Sky...two games on Amazon one on TNT , it is the premier league money grabbing at every opportunity. Christmas and new year are always a F**k up anyway !!

Completely 100% agree with ^ E_I_E_I_E_I_O's comment. Prem is overrated - much prefer the Championship as a league and have done for years - sadly the downside to being successful in the lower leagues is you have to put up with the circus that is the premier league, var and being dictated to by tv companies. Part of me can't wait to get back to normality.

@Lightningboy: We spent 20+ years trying to get back to the big time and the fact a handful of homes games are moved from 3pm means you'd rather go back down. Give your head a shake.

He who pays the piper calls the tune. As for the football regulator, that is a joke. Lots of civil servants on fat salaries and juicy pension schemes who couldn’t tell the difference between a jock strap and a goal net.

This is crap. I had carefully made unbreakable arrangements for 30 December, knowing there was no football - and guess what?
