McCann's Northern Ireland U17s Win Group Monday, 4th Nov 2024 20:48 Academy left-back Darragh McCann’s Northern Irish U17s were beaten 3-1 by Lithuania in their final Euro 2025 qualification game at Seaview Stadium in Belfast this afternoon but progressed to the next stage as group winners. The 16-year-old, who joined the Blues in the summer from Belfast club Glentoran’s academy, signing a three-year deal, scored in the 3-1 victory over Scotland in the opening group and also featured in the win against the Republic of Ireland by the same scoreline on Friday. McCann has previously been capped at U15 and U16 levels, while Town U18s forward Sid Eldred, who also won caps with the U16s, missed out on a call-up this time due to injury.
