Defender Chris Makin is not in Joe Royle's squad for Saturday's game at Sheffield Wednesday. With a number of other players with knocks the Town boss has named a party of 18 for the trip to South Yorkshire.

Makin picked up a hamstring injury on Tuesday at Crystal Palace. Also out are Darren Ambrose (knee), Hermann Hreidarsson (also knee) as well as John McGreal, Finidi George and Mark Venus, who are still a bit away as they recover from back, hip and knee injuries respectively.

Matt Richards is a doubt with a calf injury while Tommy Miller failed to make the Palace game due a hamstring problem. Thomas Gaardsøe has missed out on training towards the end of this week with a stiff back.
