![]() Tuesday, 25th Mar 2003 15:43 Darren Ambrose will not be returning to Portman Road on loan for the remainder of the season, despite apparent willingness from all sides for the move to happen. Unfortunately, Town are subject to Football League rules which state that no players may be signed by clubs while they are in administration. The ban will not automatically be lifted but will have to be discussed at Football League meetings until given the all clear. Darren told the Club website: "It would have been nice to stay here for the rest of the season and try and help the Club go up but unfortunately it has not worked out like that". Darren has signed a 5 year contract, a move which has disappointed all at Portman Road, including Bryan Klug, the Director of the Academy: "He is a very promising player but there is still a lot more room for improvement and personally speaking, as a coach, it would have been nice to see that improvement come in a blue shirt rather than a black and white one. "It's a shame he has moved on before we have really 'finished the job' but the financial situation here at the Club is well documented."
