![]() Thursday, 27th Mar 2003 13:29 Hermann Hreidarsson has completed his move to Charlton Athletic for a fee the Addicks have revealed as £800,000 plus another £100,000 if Charlton retain their Premiership status at the end of 2003/04. The Icelander, who will not be able to play for his new club until next season, had praise for Town supporters: "I'm joining Charlton and look forward to a new chapter in my career. "But I'd like to say that I've had a great, great time at Ipswich and I'd like to especially thank the fans. They've been brilliant to me, really brilliant. I couldn't have wished for better supporters and I'm so sorry to be leaving them. "However, life moves on and I think I'm leaving one great club to join another. If I can enjoy as good a relationship with the Charlton fans as I have with the Ipswich fans then it will be marvellous. "Charlton are a club in the Premiership and I look forward to some great times with them. I wish Ipswich all the best for the rest of the season." Hreidarsson has signed a three-and-a-quarter year deal at the Valley and will be paraded at a press conference at 3pm today.
