For me, the bottom line here is we were bullied out of this game. It’s not easy playing against a side like Preston, whose tactics are hardly synonymous with football.
However, no excuses, I saw at least 2 of our players who backed out of challenges. That’s poor, you know what you’re going to get from teams like this, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise.
We’ll no doubt be up against a few more this season, so we need to be braver and stronger.

60% possession 16 shots to 2 522 passes to 148. STILL LOSE. Same team as last week. £14m on a Leicester reserve player. No plan B. Subs far too late. Clarke worst signing in years. Hirst can’t hit target let alone score. 4 wins in 41 games any other manager would have been sacked. Sort it out or get out KMc stop doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result that’s the definition of insanity.

Another game we should have won easily. Why are the brakes on our best players t o adhere to the system? Shoot on sight and take no prisoners, beef up and match brawn with brawn.

Again, when we lose, most people just give low scores for everyone. Matusiwa and Taylor deserve credit for trying to lead and dictate play which they failed to do in the Birmingham game. They must be more ‘Morsy’ and I think they are getting there. When Cajuste plays more minutes, it will improve further. The problem today was that Philogene and Clarke were not on the same wavelength as the rest of the team. We miss Burns who may not be world class but he does understand what his teammates are doing. Hirst was struggling and losing against big strong defenders. Akpom showed once near the end how to use strength hold up and shield the ball. He might be what we need. I thought Szmodics looked lively and deserves some credit for his performance. All our defenders played well. The problem was that the Preston defence was really outstanding. We had to constantly play the ball back to Greaves because we need more movement up front.
