Egeli: I Know There's a Town Bid, Up to the Clubs to Agree
Monday, 25th Aug 2025 21:20

FC Nordsjælland forward Sindre Walle Egeli says he’s aware of Town’s bid for him and it’s up the clubs whether they can agree a deal

Just over a week ago, the Blues were reported to be close to a €20 million (£17.2 million) move for the 19-year-old Norwegian international.

Discussions were believed to be continuing but with little new emerging. However, Egeli spoke to the media following this evening’s 1-0 victory over Viborg in which he scored the only goal in the fourth minute.

Asked whether the match was his last in a Nordsjælland jersey, he told Danish website Bold: “We’ll see. Maybe it was. It’s not up to me.”

Quizzed on whether he was aware of Town’s interest, he added: “Yes, I know there’s a bid, then it's up to the clubs and see if they can agree.

“It is certainly exciting that the club has made a bid. But I don't think about it much. I am thinking of FC Nordsjælland and my performance here.”

Egeli says he is ready for his next step and can see himself playing in England: “Yeah, it’s always been my dream.”

The Larvik-born right-sided forward joined Nordsjælland’s academy from Sandefjord in his home country in 2022 and since then has made 43 appearances, scoring 11 goals and picking up 10 assists.

Having won Norway caps at U15, U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 levels, he won his first and so far only full cap in 2024.

Given his age, Egeli wouldn’t count towards Town’s 25-man Championship squad.

Nordsjælland, meanwhile, appear to be closing in on signing a replacement with Tromsø’s Runar Norheim, 20, understood to be on his way to Denmark to sign for the Farum-based club.

It maybe to do with agreement on the fee but I doubt we are not a million miles apart on that one.
More likely is the other Team wanting to complete the signing of his replacement?

When I saw McAteer's clips I saw a guy who's quick, can score with both feet and also his head! If we ever start making chances again that'll do for me. Egeli looks the real deal as well.

This will sound like a moan, but it's not. I'm just confused? Like the sound of the player, good we are looking at these sorts of European markets etc, and would love to him on board etc. But why are we overloading these areas of the pitch? We NEED another striker, and another defensive centre mid if Azor gets injured, those two positions ARE A PRIORITY. Just hope these two positions are being sorted as this is where we are shot in my opinion. We now have, Burns (injured I know) Philogene, McAteer, Clarke, and possibly Egeli also, I dare say Chaplin could play there if required also. Not a moan, but need to priotise surely on these positions?

Some interesting and diverse posts on this article. It may be as one poster earlier said, that Noordsjaelland are waiting to get his replacement through the door and a signature on a piece of paper, though the article merely states a replacement is on the way to the club. If so, that's fair enough.

It may also be of course, that there's the usual amount of negotiations going on regarding add ons etc, plus of course it's a foreign club, so clearance etc, comes into it as well.

And as I've put in an earlier post, I expect the fact that we are not short of cash ( pending the owners putting in a lower budget spend, than might be expected ) has not gone unnoticed, so they quite rightly, will be trying to squeeze as much as they can from any deal. There is obviously a limit above which we will not go ( for any transfer dealing for that matter ). We just may need to pay for players a little bit more than is absolutely ideal, as Kasey McAteers signing, I think proved!

Someone else mentioned never watching the video clips. I don't either. Anyone could put together a " best of " collection of clips, that could make someone with two left feet, look like Messi!

I really like the sound of this guy, but as ever, we will wait and see. 6 days and 40 minutes left of the window as I type this. I think they could be busy!

FCN bit for Tromso Norheim has been accepted so say norwegian and danish sites. I am not sure he is a direct replacement of Egeli though as Norheim is a typical left winger. Btw Egeli is not a target man.

No sore throat or refusing to play ? Could he actually be a professional with a normal work ethic like the supporters ?
