Town are reported to have told Matteo Sereni to find himself another Italian side if current loan club Brescia are unable or unwilling to take him at the end of his spell.

The Blues are keen to rid themselves of the Italian's £22,000-a-week wage which they would have to start paying when his loan period ends on June 30th if he hasn't found another club.

A fee has been provisionally agreed with Brescia and they have until the end of this month to decide whether they want to take the keeper permanently. While they may want him finance may prevent them from affording a fee for the 27-year-old.

The Blues could even be forced to let their record £4.7 million signing leave on a free simply to avoid the return of his wage bill. Sereni has two years left on his Town deal.

Sereni has been in fine form this season and it is likely that other Italian, and perhaps Spanish, clubs may take an interest. His agent is likely to be sounding out clubs as his loan spell nears its end.
