Matt Wants Premier Return

Town skipper Matt Holland has indicated once again that his future may be away from Portman Road. The midfielder, captaining Ireland against Norway on Wednesday, says he wants Premiership football.

Holland said today that he wants a return to the top flight: "I want to play at the highest level and I want to play in the Premiership.

"It has been a disappointing season. I said at the start it wouldn't be a good season if we didn't get promoted.

"We haven't done that so it hasn't been a good season.

"I've just been named player-of-the-year at Ipswich so this season has gone pretty well on a personal level."

Despite his wish to play in the Premiership again Holland says he would not be unhappy if no offers came in and he remained at Town: "I don't know what the situation is at the club but I've got three years left on my contract and obviously I'm happy at Ipswich and would be happy to see that out.

"The club's financial situation is well documented and a lot will depend on the finances during the summer.

"To move on you need someone interested and if someone comes knocking on the door I'm sure the club will listen."

If Holland does move on his former club Bournemouth will be entitled to 25% of anything the Blues receive above the £800,000 Town paid the Cherries in 1997.
