Mauricio Taricco has expressed his surprise at Town's reported interest in him. The former Town man, now at Spurs, said he was happy at the North London club, but that a move back to Town might interest him: "I have heard nothing official and as far as I'm concerned I'm in the Tottenham squad for our first game of the season which of course is against Ipswich. If Ipswich made a bid and Spurs accepted it, and it was all official then it would be different. If that were to be the case then of course I would speak to Ipswich, but it is all ifs." The Argentinian added that he liked the town as did his wife. The player Town signed for £175,000 from Argentinos Juniors still harbours dreams of playing international football, however he still feels that the Argentine management pay little attention to the Premiership.

Town reserves beat Southend in a behind doors friendly yesterday afternoon. Town ran out 3-0 winners with goals from Tony Mowbray, Richard Logans and James Scowcroft.

No new rumours this morning, stories linking Town with Gary Naysmith and Colin Cameron once again abound.

Jonas Axeldal is set to sign for Cambridge after his deal with AGF Aarhus of Denmark fell through.

Tickets are now selling fast for the Spurs game. Portman Plus and season ticket holders can buy tickets from today.

Fiorentina squad for Saturday: Toldo, Taglialatela, Repka, Bressan, Tarozzi, Rossitto, Adani, Rossi, Pierini, Amoruso, Vanoli, Lassissi, Costa, Gomes, Firicano, Mijatovic, Riccardo, Chiesa and Torricelli.
