Bent Signs Deal
Bent Signs Deal
Friday, 13th Jun 2003 19:39

Striker Darren Bent has become the second Town player today to commit his future to the club. Bent, 19, has signed a contract lasting until June 2006, as Matt Richards did earlier today.

Like Richards, Bent told the club site he was never in any doubt he wanted to stay at Town: "I'm very happy at Ipswich and had no hesitation in agreeing to a new deal to stay here.

"Ipswich have been my club since I was 10 and now I'm looking forward to playing my part in getting us back in the Premiership."

Recently Bent and Richards were the subject of an enquiry from Southampton.
