Town boss Joe Royle says that he has heard nothing new from Leicester and Stoke regarding Marcus Bent and Andy Marshall. Meanwhile he is set for more talks with wantaway keeper Matteo Sereni.

Leicester have long been reported to be tracking Bent, however Royle says the Foxes have not been in contact recently: “Their manager, Micky Adams, spoke to me about Marcus some weeks ago. But I haven't heard anything since.

"I don't know if that means they have definitely lost interest, but I think he's looking elsewhere."

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is yet to make a firm enquiry regarding Marshall but Royle is aware of his interest. Pulis was manager of Gillingham when the keeper was on loan at the Priestfield Stadium in 1996. Marshall has been offered a free transfer by Town despite still having a year left on his contract.

Royle says that he is set for talks with Matteo Sereni later this week with a move back to Serie A looking the most likely outcome for the Italian: “The best answer for all parties would be a deal. Matteo is desperate to continue his career in Italy and doesn't want to be here."

Town are after a fee for their record £4.8 million signing with former loan club Brescia, Lazio and Sampdoria all reported to have shown an interest.
