Town manager Joe Royle has reiterated that he wants left-back Matt Richards to remain at Portman Road. Over the weekend Southampton were again being linked with the 18-year-old.

Royle says: "Southampton or any other club can forget it when it comes to Matt. I don't want him to go."

Meanwhile Andy Marshall could well be on his way out of Portman Road in the next few days. It appears that negotiations have continued with the unnamed club reported to be interested on Saturday.

The club is not Fulham or Reading as claimed elsewhere with Middlesbrough now said to be the name in the frame.

Alun Armstrong's proposed loan move to Derby could be back on now that he has recovered from his hip injury. Rams' boss George Burley confirmed his loan interest in the striker last week.

Like Armstrong and Marshall, Nabil Abidallah is available on a free transfer. Up to now there has been no interest in the Dutchman, however he could be set for a loan after a number of clubs enquired about him.
