Mahon Wants to Stay Monday, 13th Oct 2003 10:01 On-loan midfielder Alan Mahon has revealed he wants to stay with the Blues and that Blackburn will allow him to leave on a free transfer. Mahon has become a fans' favourite since joining Town for a three-month spell. Mahon says: "I'm enjoying my football and that is all that matters. I would like to stay. It is a great set of lads, great staff and I'm happy to be here. I hope something can be sorted out." The Irishman has another year left on his Blackburn deal after this season and is likely to have to take a big drop in wages in order to make his switch to Town permanent. His loan spell ends in December. Striker Shefki Kuqi, on loan from Sheffield Wednesday, is also likely to join Town at the end of his loan spell with a fee of £250,000 reportedly agreed by the two clubs.
