![]() Friday, 12th Dec 2003 09:20 Former Town defender Frank Yallop is in negotiations with the Canada Soccer Association (CSA) and looks certain to become the new coach of their international side. Yallop was given permission to talk to the CSA by his US club, the San Jose Earthquakes, and is expected to take the job next week. The former Canada international has taken the Quakes to two MLS titles, the latest just last month. The 39-year-old is highly-rated in North America and US national boss Bruce Arena a big fan: "I think Frank Yallop is a fantastic coach. "If that's the direction he chooses to go with his career, I think he'll do a great job. "I think maybe the first time around is going to be difficult for him, but regardless of whether Canada can qualify for the World Cup, I think that Frank will remain in that position and position Canada at least for the next World Cup. "I think the world of Frank. I think he's a great coach and can do a great job. He would be a good choice for Canada."
