Painter Loses Final
Painter Loses Final
Sunday, 4th Jan 2004 23:37

North Stand season ticket holder Kevin 'The Artist' Painter lost the final of the PDC darts world final in sudden death at Purfleet's Circus Tavern on Sunday night.

Painter, a regular TWTD reader, was seeded number 10 in the premier darts competition and had thrashed veteran Bob Anderson 6-0 in the semi-final.

Despite Painter being 2-0, 4-1 and then 5-3 up against 10-time champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor, the 13-set final reached a dramatic 6-6 stalemate and eventually went to sudden death, the Stoke-based thrower eventually winning out.

Painter, based in March in Cambridgeshire, reached the semi-final stage last year, and, despite the disappointment, will be pleased to have progressed further this time around.
