Town Appoint New Director Wednesday, 25th Feb 2004 09:37 Town will announce today the appointment of Holly Bellingham as the club's first ever woman director. Bellingham, 44, chairs Marketform, a city-based provider of specialist liability insurance. Hailing in Lavenham, Bellingham has been a Town fans for a number of years and she and her partner Simon Turner, who also works for Marketform, invested substantial sums in the loan note scheme which effectively kept the club afloat last summer. Bellingham says she is pleased to join the board: "I am extremely proud and delighted to accept this appointment. I, along with my partner and our families, have been a fan of Ipswich Town form many years. "I hope, that by using my business experience and skills, that I will be able to assist the club by building on the work undertaken by the current board members as we all work to guide Ipswich Town back to football's top flight." Club chairman David Sheepshanks welcomed her to the board: "Holly Bellingham has supported the club for many years, both individually and via her company Marketform, who have been regular and generous sponsors of many matches and events at Portman Road." She began her career in insurance in 1979 as a professional indemnity broker, before moving into medical malpractice underwriting in 1982. She led the management buy-out which established Marketform Limited in 1989. Bellingham is the second appointment to the board since the club's administration a year ago. Serco chairman Kevin Beeston was added in August.
