Marshall Leaves Town
Marshall Leaves Town

Keeper Andy Marshall has finally ended his unhappy stay at Portman Road, signing on a free for Millwall on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

Marshall, 28, has been on loan with the Lions for the last two months and has impressed Dennis Wise and Ray Wilkins.

The ex-England U21 joined Town on a Bosman transfer in the summer of 2001. He found it hard to find the form which had led George Burley to take him from Norwich, where he had been player of the year.

A very difficult 2001/02 ended with the stopper being offered on a free transfer and frozen out of Joe Royle's plans when Kelvin Davis was signed from Wimbledon.

This season Marshall spent time on loan at Wolves before switching to Millwall in January where he has made nine starts.

The ex-Gillingham loanee was out of contract with Town in June and would not have been offered a new deal.
