Town boss Joe Royle hailed the role of half-time subs Shefki Kuqi and Martijn Reuser as the Blues turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win at Rotherham's Millmoor.

Royle told the club site: "The substitutes paid off, with Shefki giving us a physical presence up front in the second-half.

"Martijn Reuser also did well for us after coming on at the break, and was an influence on our performance improving in the second half.

"My own personal player of the match though, was John McGreal. He declared himself fit after training on Friday and was outstanding for us against Rotherham.

"For once, luck favoured us a little. We were poor in the first half and they hit the post when it was 1-0 and then, right at the end, they hit the woodwork again and we went straight up the other end and made it 3-1.

"It's a big win for us, no doubt about that, and sets the game up for Monday and Sunderland coming to Portman Road."
