Pablo Happy at Town Thursday, 6th May 2004 17:19 Town striker Pablo Couñago says he is happy with the Blues, despite speculation suggesting his future may well be away from Portman Road. Couñago is Town's highest-paid player and has another year left on his contract. The Spaniard told the club site: “The last two months have been very disappointing with the injury but overall I am very happy here at Ipswich. “If we get into the play-offs, hopefully I can return to the team and help us win promotion back to the Premiership. “[The fans] have been fantastic to me from the moment I came here. In Spain the fans cheer your name but when you lose or have a bad game, they stop. At Ipswich they support you all the time.” Couñago has been linked with a return to Spain in the summer, with the Blues unlikely to refuse offers should they remain in Division One for 2004/05, particularly if the other high earners — Martijn Reuser and Marcus Bent — are still at Portman Road.
