![]() Friday, 4th Jun 2004 17:45 Young British singer-songwriter James Blunt has been named as the support act at this summer's Elton John concert at Portman Road. Blunt has recently completed a tour with Katie Melua. The former Watford chairman is impressed with his support act for the June 16th gig: "I think he's one of the most amazing singer-songwriters around right now. "I'm playing his tracks on constant rotation, and I can't wait for the public to get his album when it's released in September. It should be a great show. "I'm really looking forward to coming to Ipswich, especially to Portman Road; what a venue!” Tickets are still available, although the club recently reported that they were within a couple of thousand of selling out all 25,000. Seats can be purchased by phone from 0871 2200260 or online here.
