![]() Friday, 11th Jun 2004 12:54 Town boss Joe Royle is planning a short trip to Denmark as part of the Blues' pre-season plans. Scandinavia has been the regular destination for pre-season tours in recent years. Royle said: "We have arranged some games, both home and away, but there is still a bit of a gap to be filled. "I am looking for a short tour - two games in six days - to Denmark next month. "But the fact that we are behind schedule because of the play-offs and couldn't make final plans until we knew which division we would be in next season, has made it difficult to finalise things. "At the moment we want to go to Denmark and I hope it will be possible but I am waiting for a call to confirm it." Town have already pencilled in a number of UK-based friendlies with a match at Oxford United's Kassam Stadium on July 20th the latest to be announced. The Blues also visit Peterborough on July 10th with Crystal Palace at Portman Road on July 24th. Newcastle United will be in town with a full-strength line-up on July 28th for the Dale Roberts Testimonial game. As usual, the Blues are looking to face continental opposition in the final game of their pre-season programme. Negotiations are continuing with Lazio regarding the Rome club fulfilling one of the friendlies agreed as part of the Matteo Sereni transfer. If a game against Roberto Mancini's side cannot be arranged then Royle says the Blues will face other opposition: "There is still a chance of Lazio but again nothing has been finalised. But even if it's not them it is very unlikely there will be no game." Dutch side PSV are understood to be possible candidates should Town be unable to face the Italians. If this is the case it is likely the Sereni deal friendlies would take place at a later date. Town have reserve friendlies against Redbridge FC - formerly Ford United - at their Oakside Stadium in Barkingside on Saturday, July 24th. The match is part of the deal which saw Ben Patten and Jerome Sobers move to Portman Road. The reserves travel to Leiston on Friday, July 16th, while the Blues are likely to take a second string side for a game against Barnet at Underhill on Wednesday, July 21st.
