![]() Monday, 21st Jun 2004 19:44 Town full-back Chris Makin is itching to get back into action after missing virtually the whole of 2003/04 due to a hip injury. Makin is working on getting himself back to fitness after undergoing surgery towards the end of last season. The former Sunderland man, just back from a trip to Portugal, told the club site: "I can't wait to get going again, especially getting back to kicking a ball and playing in the pre-season friendlies. "My recovery is all going according to plan and there have been no reactions so far to the surgery, touch wood. "Last season was a nightmare for me. The injury was bad enough but there was a real concern that the specialists couldn't find out what the problem was and that was the most frustrating thing. "Hopefully it's all sorted out now and I just want to get out there on the pitch. I can't wait for the pre-season games to come around and I am confident I will be fit for the tour to Denmark as well." Makin's Town contract is up at the end of June but he has already signalled his intention to sign an interim two-month deal while he proves his fitness.
