![]() Tuesday, 22nd Jun 2004 12:27 Former Town defender Mark Venus was delighted to be appointed play-coach at Tony Mowbray's Hibernian this morning. The 37-year-old left Town last summer after six years with the club. Venus said: "I've known Tony for seven years now since our Ipswich Town days as team-mates. "We had then and still do have a close working relationship and I am delighted to have been given the chance to join Tony at Hibernian Football Club. "Tony is a young ambitious manager and I am looking forward to be working as first-team coach to improve the strengths and weaknesses of our players." Mogga welcomed his former central defensive partner to the Edinburgh club: "I am delighted that Mark has agreed to join us at Easter Road. "I know what his strengths are and I know that they will compliment my own. "He has a good knowledge of the game and will bring a lot to the club. "I mentioned when I was appointed that the sort of person I wanted to work with had to spark my thirst for knowledge, someone who has the same thirst for the game that I have. Mark fits that profile and much more besides."
