![]() Friday, 25th Jun 2004 10:26 Skipper Jim Magilton says he will accept his new one-year contract at Town, but is not sure whether he will carry on as captain. Magilton says he will put pen to paper when he reports for pre-season training next week after a holiday: "I see no reason why I would not sign and as far as I'm concerned I will be back for pre-season training on Monday. As soon as we get a chance I will sit down with the gaffer and talk over some of the finer details." Magilton is pleased to have been offered the new deal but is not sure whether manager Joe Royle intends him to remain as captain: "I don't know if the gaffer wants me to carry on as captain. If he does then I would happily do it as I consider it a great honour. But of he feels the team would benefit from a different type of leadership then I would readily accept that - no problem."
