Stand-in skipper Jason De Vos says he is confident he will be fit for Saturday's game at Derby County. De Vos played in last night's game at Nottingham Forest despite suffering from a knee injury sustained in the friendly with Osasuna.

De Vos told the club site: "I shouldn't have really played at Nottingham because the knee was very sore.

"But I've had a session in the swimming pool this morning and it feels a lot better than it did 24 hours ago.

"We will have to see how it reacts to training on Friday but hopefully I'll be fine for Derby at the weekend."

De Vos is in line to captain Canada against Guatemala in Vancouver on Wednesday but will assess whether he will play based on how he feels after the Derby match: "Although playing for my country is important to me, my responsibility to Ipswich obviously comes first."

Also travelling to Vancouver with Frank Yallop's squad is targeted right-winger Jaime Peters. The 17-year-old is currently on a two-day trial at Saturday's opponents Derby County.
