Town boss Joe Royle praised his side's honesty after they came from two goals behind to win with 10-men for the second time in 17 months. However, Royle was critical of the defensive lapses which gave Plymouth two early goals.

Royle felt the game could well have been beyond his side just after the break: "If I am honest we could have been out of the game soon after half-time had they taken their chances.

"We had to bypass midfield where they had five against three and the crowd had to give us a little bit of faith - but we kept going and if we lack anything as a team it is not honesty.

"We scored three goals and if you score three goals you are likely to win the match."

While the frontmen did their stuff, Royle says that defensively his side again made errors: "We had one of our dopey days at the back that we do as a team.

"We knew it was going to be a 4-5-1 but the one up front [Steve Crawford] played exceptionally well and gave our centre-halves problems - and we were spread out as a team."

Royle felt that Fabian Wilnis's red card came about due to the Dutchman losing his cool: "I know Fabian had just been dumped on the far side and perhaps there was some red mist. I will have a look at the tape but I am not making any arguments about it."

The Town boss had particular praise for match-winner Shefki Kuqi: "Shefki came on and did brilliantly for us. He's an honest player and took his goals well.

"He was in the right place to get on the end of Darren's cross for the first goal and then his second one was superb.

"He was disappointed to be left out but if he plays like that every week, he'll be in the side."

Like Royle, Plymouth manager Bobby Williamson felt that his side should have taken their opportunities just after half-time: "If David Friio had scored one of two chances it could had been over then."

The Scot was also unhappy at the way his side conceded goals: "They will say it is good finishing but we will look at it and say it is poor defending. We will look at it again and try to learn from it.

"If you create chances you have certainly got to take them. If Friio had done so then there would have been only one winner, but we did not and I am disappointed."
