Davis Back in Training
Davis Back in Training

First choice keeper Kelvin Davis was due back in training today ahead of a return to league action against Burnley on Saturday. Davis missed the 2-1 win against Coventry due to the back injury which had forced him off in the 1-1 draw against Reading.

Boss Joe Royle says the stopper won't be rushed into anything: "Kelvin will be back in training today with a view to joining the squad tomorrow, when we hope he will be able to do something more strenuous.

"He will be concentrating today on a slow build-up and we will have to wait and see how that goes before knowing whether or not he can step it up tomorrow."

If Davis fails to make it then Wales U21 keeper Lewis Price will keep his place with Academy youngster Shane Supple again on the bench.

Town also have a concern over striker Darren Bent who missed last night's England U21 game in Azerbaijan due to a hamstring problem.

Bent himself was confident that he would be OK to face the Clarets as his England omission was more than anything a precautionary measure.

The Blues will assess Bent when he returns to Portman Road on Thursday.

Town will be without Fabian Wilnis on Saturday as the Dutchman completes his three-match suspension after his red card in the 3-2 victory against Plymouth.
