![]() Thursday, 18th Nov 2004 11:36 Former Town chief executive Howard Wells is set to be the first man appointed to the same job at the Irish Football Association, the body which oversees football in Northern Ireland. Wells joined Town in October 1999 shortly after leaving a similar position at Watford but lasted just 227 days before resigning to concentrate on "personal ambitions". Formerly a goalkeeper with Wycombe Wanderers, he was also the inaugural chairman of UK Sport and was the chair of the Central Council of Physical Recreation. Wells is expected to be unveiled by the IFA at a press conference on Friday.
