Town have announced that they will be trialing Paraguayan central defender Ángel Martínez this week in addition to Monaco midfielder Jimmy Juan. TWTD reported last week that the Blues were interested in taking 21-year-old Juan on trial.

The pair will join-up with the squad on Thursday and spend a week with the club. Reports in France had earlier indicated that Juan would be at Portman Road from Monday.

Angel, a central defender, is without a club at present having also been strongly linked with Portsmouth.

The 21-year-old started his career with Paraguayan side Olimpia Asunción before switching to Argentina to join Racing Club, a former side of ex-Town loanee Sixto Peralta.

After returning to his homeland, he played for Nacional and Tacuary his latest club, and was a member of the Paraguayan U23 side which won a silver medal at the Olympics in Greece in the summer.

Martínez, 6ft 2in tall, also played for Paraguay's U20 side at the FIFA World Youth Championship in 2003.
