![]() Friday, 7th Jan 2005 10:49 Town will revive plans to erect a big screen at Portman Road if the club reaches the Premiership. The Blues were set to install the screen during the last Premiership stay but relegation and then administration put the idea on hold. The screen will be sited above the police control box between the Greene King and Britannia Stands. Chief executive Derek Bowden says: "We have been considering putting up a large screen in the south-west corner for some time but, even though we would be able to get one through one of our directors' companies, it would cost a six-figure sum to put up." Town are also involved in a pilot scheme with Sports TV and the Football League which will see new in-stadia TV programmes. The five-hour team-related shows will include screenings of a club's previous away game in TVs around a ground ahead of kick-off. The club will receive an extra few thousand pounds per game once the service is up and running and have been provided with widescreen plasma screen televisions for some areas of Portman Road. Promotion could also see the revival of other plans shelved after relegation in 2002 including a new refreshment area between the Cobbold and Greene King Stands for away supporters.
