Scowy in Dark Wednesday, 27th Apr 2005 16:00 On-loan striker James Scowcroft says he is in the dark about his future beyond the end of the season. The 29-year-old doesn't expect to be offered a new deal by Leicester and hopes to stay at Portman Road despite his loan spell not having gone to plan up to now. Scowcroft said: "Reading between the lines I don't think I have any chance of getting a new contract with Leicester, although nothing has been said officially. "It would be fantastic if I could be with Ipswich again next season, but my loan spell has been disappointing. I have yet to score and a goal could change everything." Scowcroft's three-month loan at Town ends in mid-May meaning he would be available for the play-off semi-finals if the Blues finish the season in third but would be unavailable for the final should the Blues progress that far. Ironically, Scowcroft missed Town's 2000 play-off final victory over Barnsley due to an injury.
