![]() Wednesday, 11th May 2005 02:43 Town's reserves ended their season on a high, defeating Portsmouth 3-1 at Fratton Park on Tuesday night. Dean Bowditch, Chris Casement and Dean McDonald scored the goals which took Steve McCall's side off the bottom of the FA Premier Reserve League (South). Bowditch, back from his loan spell at Burnley, scored the opening goal after 12 minutes. The England U19 international impressed throughout and is certain to be on the bench at Upton Park on Saturday, with loanees James Scowcroft and David Unsworth having left the club. Northern Ireland U17 international Chris Casement netted the second, his first for Town's reserves, heading in Matt Richards's freekick from the left on 28. The home side's Joe Bye pulled a goal back before Bowditch set McDonald up for an 81st minute third goal for Town, the former Arsenal trainee's deflected shot leaving Portsmouth keeper Andrea Guatelli with no chance. The victory takes the reserves to third bottom of the league, Portsmouth replacing them at the foot of the table and Leicester splitting the two sides, all three having completed their fixtures.
