Keeper Kelvin Davis says that Town's season has been better than expected, despite yet another defeat in the play-offs. Davis, who many are tipping to be a Premiership target this summer, finished second behind Shefki Kuqi in the Supporters' Club Player of the Year poll.

The former Wimbledon man told the club site: "When the dust has settled we'll look back on this season and recognise just how good it's been.

"We had some great wins and for two months we were top of the table - against all expectation from the pundits, who were predicting a mid-table slot when the year started.

"So, we have proved a lot of people wrong and all in all it has been a good year, but at the moment it doesn't feel like that because losing out in the play-offs is, of course, massively disappointing."

Davis was linked with Arsenal by a tabloid newspaper at the weekend.
