![]() Wednesday, 1st Jun 2005 17:49 Club chief executive Derek Bowden says that Joe Royle will be given money to spend - if keeper Kelvin Davis completes his move to Sunderland. TWTD reported this morning that Davis would be at the Stadium of Light to discuss his move this afternoon. Bowden told the club site: "Kelvin is not a free agent but the club has accepted an offer from Sunderland and he is free to talk to them. He is holding discussions with them and we will see what develops from there. "If Kelvin does move - and that will be down to him - the club would be in a position to move quickly into the transfer market. "At the moment, even with Darren Bent joining Charlton, we have little room for manoeuvre until we know where we stand with the four out of contract players [Fabian Wilnis, Jim Magilton, Tommy Miller and Shefki Kuqi]. "But if Kelvin agrees personal terms with Sunderland then we could move into the transfer market virtually immediately and there will be money available for Joe." Bowden has not revealed the fee agreed with Sunderland for Davis but it is expected to be approaching £1 million with some part of that figure due to the MK Dons from a sell-on agreed when the keeper joined the Blues from the club then known as Wimbledon.
