![]() Thursday, 2nd Jun 2005 14:31 Boss Joe Royle has denied a report which claimed he was targeting Wycombe Wanderers striker Nathan Tyson. The 23-year-old has refused to sign an extension to his contract which has a year to run and is valued at £350,000. Royle says that at present the Blues would not be able to pay that kind of money: "Nathan would cost a fee, and as things stand at the moment that is beyond us." Kelvin Davis's expected departure to Sunderland would give Royle some cash to play with but how much that might be is unclear. Reports in the North-East suggest that the deal will only be worth £1 million after a number of top-ups, while the size of the MK Dons sell-on percentage is unconfirmed. Tyson, who joined Wycombe from Reading in January 2004 intially on loan, scored 22 goals for the League Two club last season and has been linked with Manchester City and Preston. Former Town midfielder Matt Bloomfield has signed a new two-year deal with the Chairboys.
