Striker Shefki Kuqi won his 36th full international cap as Finland lost 1-0 to Denmark in a home friendly in Tampere. The Town frontman played 79 minutes before being replaced by Mikael Forssell.

FC Copenhagen's Michael Silberbauer, who played against Town for AaB on the club's 2002/03 pre-season tour of Denmark, scored the winning goal in the final minute of the game.

The friendly was arranged to help Finland prepare for next Wednesday's crucial Group One World Cup qualifier against Holland in Helsinki.

Kuqi is currently weighing up whether to remain with the Blues having been offered a new two-year deal. Premiership sides Blackburn, West Ham and Portsmouth have been linked with the out of contract striker.

Finland: Jussi Jääskeläinen, Janne Saarinen (Toni Kallio 67), Sami Hyypiä, Hannu Tihinen (Toni Kuivasto 58), Mika Nurmela, Jari Litmanen (c) (Jarkko Wiss 58), Aki Riihilahti, Peter Kopteff (Joonas Kolkka 46), Shefki Kuqi (Mikael Forssell 79), Alexei Eremenko Jr, Jonatan Johansson (Mika Väyrynen 76).
