Postma Keeper Target?

Aston Villa keeper Stefan Postma is being linked with a possible summer move to Town. The ex-Holland U21 international is said to be interesting the Blues as well as Dutch sides NAC Breda, Utrecht, NEC Nimjegen, Sparta Rotterdam and former club De Graafschap.

Town boss Joe Royle has stated his intention to bring in an experienced keeper this summer with Kelvin Davis looking likely to join West Ham, having decided against a switch to Sunderland.

Postma, 28, still has a year left on his Aston Villa deal but has made only seven Premiership starts in three seasons and is keen to move for first team football. David O'Leary may be willing to allow him to leave for free to reduce the club's wage bill.

However, Postma's chances of joining the Blues might be hampered by a knee injury which is likely to force him to miss the start of pre-season training.

Despite the interest of the Dutch sides, Postma, currently back home in Holland working on his fitness, is keen to find a new clubm in England.

Norwegian newspapers are mentioning Town in connection with former Chelsea and Rangers frontman Tore Andre Flo, who has been freed by Italian side Siena.

The player's agent says that Flo has had offers to play in Saudia Arabia and South Korea but would prefer to stay in Europe, with sides from Italy, France, Germany, Spain and England all interested.

According to the agent, Flo and his family would ideally prefer to come back to England - they still own a house in London - but the 31-year-old's wages are likely to be beyond Town's means at present.

Joe Royle has long been a fan of the Norwegian, attempting to sign the then Brann striker in 1997 while Everton manager. The deadline day deal for Flo and Brann team-mate Claus Eftevaag failed to go through and led to the row with chairman Peter Johnson which saw Royle hand in his resignation.
