Academy director Bryan Klug has been working on completing his UEFA Pro Licence qualification at the Toulon U20 tournament this week. Klug was joined on the course by George Burley, Sam Allardyce, Bryan Robson and John Gorman.

The senior academy players are due back at the club for pre-season training on July 1st, although some are already at Playford Road.

Injury victims Billy Clarke (medial knee ligament operation) and Michael Synnott (cartilage surgery) have been back, along with locally-based players Liam Trotter and Aidan Collins.

Irish midfielder Owen Garvan is over the virus which saw him miss the FA Youth Cup final and spend time in hospital.

Garvan, and most of the Youth Cup-winning side, will still be young enough to have another opportunity to take the trophy next season.
