Wigan in for Miller
Wigan in for Miller
Tuesday, 14th Jun 2005 09:36

Wigan have emerged as the latest contenders for the signature of out-of-contract Town midfielder Tommy Miller. Already Sunderland, Leeds, Crystal Palace and Celtic have shown an interest in the 26-year-old.

The Latics, who missed out on signing striker Darren Bent earlier in the month, are reported to have held talks with Miller, who has also been offered a new two-year deal at Portman Road.

The former Hartlepool man says he will make a decision on where his future lies after his return from honeymoon on June 21st.

Ex-Town boss George Burley faces opposition from former Germany international Lothar Matthaus and Nevio Scala, previously coach at Parma, for the manager's position at Hearts. Sir Bobby Robson turned down the chance of becoming director of football at Tynecastle last week.

Meanwhile in the US, Adrian Paz has been named in the Colorado Rapids Team of the Decade (Second Team). The Rapids are celebrating their tenth anniversary and asked supporters to vote on their top players with Paz out of the first 11 but in the top 22.

Paz, who played in midfield when with the Rapids rather than up front as he did for Town, will receive an honorary certificate at a home game with FC Dallas later this month.
