Canaries Want Parkin
Canaries Want Parkin
Wednesday, 22nd Jun 2005 23:53

Town are facing renewed competition for the signature of Swindon striker Sam Parkin from local rivals Norwich City. The Canaries have had a bid accepted by the Robins having had an earlier offer turned down.

Nigel Worthington's club have been given permission to speak to Parkin, who has already spoken to Watford and who spent the day at Portman Road discussing his potential move to Town.

We now understand that the Blues have bid £450,000 for Parkin with £300,000 payable now and a further £150,000 in a year's time. The 24-year-old's former club Chelsea will receive a percentage of the fee.

Parkin is staying overnight in Ipswich and continues to consider his future. Norwich's accepted bid means he could travel to Carrow Road tomorrow as he carefully weighs up his various options.
