If Richard Wright isn't imminently to become a Mnachester United player Town could still find themselves without his services for the game with Huddersfield on September 4th. Town have had only Wright and Northern Ireland U21 international Sean Friars called up internationals that weekend with very little likelihood of anyone else getting a call up; Jim Magilton is not in the Northern Ireland squad and Matt Holland is only on standby for Ireland.

However, all may not be lost as Wright may be given permission to leave the England camp to play for Town at Huddersfield before rejoining the squad travelling to Poland. This kind of arrangement has been put in place before.

Of course, there is always the chance that Kevin Beattie's prediction may come true and David Johnson will be in the England squad...

Former Town hero Frans Thijssen has been sacked as coach of Fabian Wilnis's old club De Graafschap. Frans had only been manager since late last season and had drawn both the opening games of the season.
