![]() Monday, 11th Jul 2005 16:57 Award-winning Town groundsman Alan Ferguson will be busy over the next week making sure a new pitch surface is ready for the first home pre-season friendly of the summer against Rangers next Tuesday. The top of last season's pitch has been removed and will be replaced with a surface which has been grown elsewhere in preparation for use during the coming season. Ferguson, a Rangers supporter and a former groundsman at the Ibrox club, told the club site that the work will have to be done in a short space of time: "It's a tight schedule because we have Rangers here next Tuesday night and we couldn't get started until the REM concert finished [last Friday]. "We will be working around the clock this week but I'm sure we'll have everything in place for that game."
