Canada & Peters Need Win
Canada & Peters Need Win
Tuesday, 12th Jul 2005 12:06

Jaime Peters and Canada need to beat Cuba comfortably tonight and hope that results in other matches go their way in order for Frank Yallop's side to advance to the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Canada have lost both of their first two group games against Costa Rica and hosts the US, but could still go through by having one of the two best records of the three third-placed sides.

Peters, who has been a sub in the earlier matches, will hope to start with his side needing goals. The 18-year-old winger is set to formally join the Blues when he returns from international duty.

Town's next player off on international duty is Dean Bowditch, who is in the England squad for the UEFA European U19 Championship in Northern Ireland which starts next week.

England take on France, Norway and Armenia at the group stage. Eurosport are covering the tournament and are showing England's opening game with France live on Monday from 5pm.
